In 1997 Tom joined HM Revenue & Customs where he undertook Inspector Training before becoming an investigator in a number of business sectors. His near 20 year career saw him undertake enquiries into some of the largest international companies, wealthy individuals, and those with complex offshore structures and interests. In 2017 Tom left the Civil Service to head up the tax investigations division of WTT Group where he has responsibility for overseeing and undertaking the management of tax enquiries for various individuals and corporates including those in the sporting arena. He is a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners after obtaining his diploma (with distinction) in Tax and Estate Planning. As a result he also advises on Inheritance Tax issues and Trust structuring and management. He is also a regular contributor to Tax Journal, the UK's leading tax periodical.
