ISTA were invited to present at the second UEFA Grow Conference on Financial and HR Management, which was held in Lisbon on Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 May.
The Grow conference is for the finance and HR directors of the 55 member associations and explored the latest trends in finance and human resources with keynote speakers, national association case studies, UEFA’s benchmarking analysis and group case studies.
Ciarán Medlar (Partner at BDO Ireland) and Sofia Thomas (Chair, ISTA) came together to design a presentation to showcase how a healthy tax function can run within a National Association.
The duo spoke about double tax treaties, permanent establishments, employment taxes, tax incentives, VAT & commercial and tax investigations. The presentation ended with lots of great questions from the audience.
ISTA would like to take the opportunity to thank Richard and UEFA for the opportunity for our members to talk all things tax with their national associations and to the Portugal Football Association for their kind hospitality.
